Raise your hand if you or someone you love goes on vacation laden like a pack mule with camera gear. Big-lens digital SLR cameras sure take lovely photos but carrying one is literally a pain in the neck.
So I’m relieved to report that a new leap in high-end camera tech is replacing the big-honking’ lens with something much more manageable: a bunch of small lenses, plus smart software.
That’s the big—or, rather, little—idea in a $1,950 camera that goes on sale Wednesday from a startup called Light.
