Review of OMEN by HP 17-Ck2004TX
The new HP Omen 17 2023 model combines the potent performance of the 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900HX processor with the formidable RTX 4080 GPU to deliver the most potent gaming laptop weve tested to date. It surpasses the gaming laptops we tested only last year by a wide margin. At a premium price of Rs 3,03,501, this package is undoubtedly not inexpensive, but with the hardware included, even desktop gamers might find themselves drawn to it.
HP OMEN 17 - Gaming RTX 4080
The HP Omen 17 is the first laptop with an RTX 4080 that we have evaluated this year. This GPU has a TGP of 175 watts, making it strong.
It has sufficient capability to play the newest AAA games at QHD resolutions without difficulty. In every synthetic gaming benchmark, it easily outperforms our previous best-performing gaming laptop, the MSI Raider GE67HX with a 3080Ti. However, it is not the best laptop GPU NVIDIA has to offer; that honour belongs to the 4090.
You can see how much the two laptops differ in their synthetic GPU benchmark results by comparing their results. We evaluated DX 12 and DX 11 performance using the 3DMark Time Spy and Fire Strike benchmarks, respectively, and DXR (ray-tracing) performance using Port Royale.
In terms of real-world gaming performance, we put the laptop through a variety of tests including both new and classic games, CPU-intensive games, and GPU-intensive games.
